The Advertising Hall of Fame is administered nationally by the American Advertising Federation (AAF) . This prestigious organization was established in 1948 in New York and, since that time, has honored more than 200 advertising professionals from all over the country.
Within the southwest region of the AAF Tenth District (Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas) there is a rich history of advertising, devoted to integrity, creativity and public service. Yet to date, only five of the national honorees have direct ties to our region.
In 2005, the AAF 10th District began to develop a plan to honor its own. Modeling its criteria on those of the national organization, the Southwest Advertising Hall of Fame was established to honor advertising professionals from this region, in all phases of the industry, who have made significant contributions to the profession and to their communities.
On an annual basis, a selection committee, made up of past governors and past inductees of the Tenth District considers every nominee presented in accordance with the criteria for nomination, whether living or deceased, whose record of service was accomplished in significant measure within our southwest region. Nominees may still be active in the profession or retired.
As Southwest Advertising Hall of Fame inductees become eligible for national consideration, their nominations are forwarded to the national AAF.
